He was an old man who was present at the Harper residence because Charlie slept with his wife. He and Charlie talked about that on the terrace and they finally "made peace". Later, Evelyn, Charlie and Alan's mother had came to the house, met Norman and guess the expensive car was his and what Charlie had done to his wife. They got to talking and he got revenge on Natalie and Charlie by sleeping with her. Hence, she gave money to Charlie, Alan, Jake and Berta to go to the cinema. When they returned, Alan said they could not go inside the house because he saw that Evelyn and Norman were "doing something" that Jake could not see.
