Frankie is an eccentric woman who Charlie and Alan Harper met in the parking lot. She's the mother of Joanie. She is played by Jenna Elfman.
Season 1[]
She makes her first appearance in "Round One To The Hot Crazy Chick" as a crazy chick trashing her shrink's car for lying about her in court. After Alan accidently turns on the car's alarm he and Charlie are forced to take her with them. In the next episode, it is revealed she married a very rich person named Brad. His parents hated her because when she met Brad, he was on the road to becoming a U.S congressman while Frankie was just "on the road" and they hated her much more after part of Brad's trust fund has been used to finance her recording career. Then Brad died and his parents sued her for custody of her daughter Joanie. Charlie is initially attracted to her and invites her to the beach house, but Frankie makes it clear she will not sleep with him. Alan at first is alarmed by her behavior but turns out to have a lot in common her. Eventually she wins back custody of her daughter but learns the car she smashed up wasn't her therapist's making things still bad for her. Alan comforts her and they form a genuine spiritual connection. However, she reveals to Alan she will not pursue a relationship with him, since she doesn't want to pursue settling down in her current conditions, but still has sex with him. She later goes to Seattle to live with her brother and sister-in-law in order to rebuild her life, after she leaves Alan with her bra as a momentum to remember her.
